I am a regular student at Willow Street. What I love about the studio the most is the sense of community. The teachers really know and care about their students, and will do everything to help them find what they need from their practice. I love hearing stories from fellow students like "I came here to take a kids yoga class 10 years ago!" and "xxx (teacher's name) took care of me through my pregnancy and postpartum." Students are from all age groups, genders, and backgrounds. Some classes have elementary kids and seniors practicing in one room! I drive over to Takoma Park from Kensington to take a yoga class on Thursday night. The timing works great for me, and I really enjoy Carol's class. She's an excellent teacher, and the staff are always very helpful and supportive. Nice environment, and consideration of Covid protocols. I find the space to be clean, and I'm able to wear a mask or not, as I feel appropriate given the number of people in the fairly large studio.

I've been going to WSY off and on for over 15 years. I like the friendly classroom style and the focus on small details of how to get the most of out each pose, including alignment and adjustments for individual needs. It's not about getting it "right" for the sake of getting it right, but rather the way to get the most strength in the pose and the alignment to protect your body. I can really feel the difference when I implement the instructor's suggestions.
