About Guitar Center
Guitar Center is a large and well-stocked store offering a wide variety of guitars and amplifiers. The staff provides excellent service, proactively greeting customers and helping them find what they need. There are private practice rooms available for musicians. The store has lots of instruments on display, making the experience easy, fun, and very nice. Customers praise the helpful and friendly staff, who are not pushy and are always ready to assist. The store also offers a website that helps customers check availability before visiting, saving time. While the entrance can be hard to find for first-time visitors, ample parking is available. Despite some reported customer service issues, the store remains highly recommended for its extensive selection and helpful staff. Whether bringing in guitars for TLC or purchasing starter kits for kids, customers often have great experiences and leave excited to play more.
Always a good place to spend a foul weather afternoon. The staff is really nice, helpful but don't pressure you in any way to make a purchase. My most recent visit was a rainy day in mid-July 2026. The higher-end acoustics are now in the front room and the cheaper ones to the back. Frankly, there's not a single one of those cheap Mitchell, Ibanez, Fender and whatever else is in that room I'd lay a hand on. If you're a beginner, try out the various models of Martin and Taylor and pick one of those. IMO, the Gibsons are overpriced, mostly sound dull and unremarkable... unplugged anyway.
