We had an excellent first visit at Prince Frederick Animal Hospital. Wonderful intake staff, vet technicians and annual exams with Dr. Matteson. So thankful they allowed us to bring in all 3 of our pets at the same time and all appointments were on time! Follow-up call on tests was quick and thorough and online shopping for prescription diets was excellent.

This animal hospital isn't what it used to be. Appointments are always a week out at minimum and phone wait times are ridiculous with little to no concern from the staff.

This will be the one and only time I come here I was running late I called in advance. I was specifically told I had a ten minutes grace period by the doctors herself it was my only day available so I booked it in my camaro. I was 3 minutes and 48 seconds late the doctor left before my original appointment time so clearly they care more about there personal life then the well being of our pets. I've now been waiting over 30 minutes for another doctor because they specifically said they didn't wanna have me reschedule because I was told 10 minutes grace period. Guess when I called at 4:32 and said I was running late the doctor just took it upon herself to assume I wasn't gonna make it which I did so my puppies appointments will now be scheduled somewhere else for everyone afterwards

11 minutes late and furious!
I will be looking for a different vet after today. Pulled into my parking spot at 11 minutes past my appointment due to heavy traffic going into Prince Frederick and once in Prince Frederick. It normally takes me 15 minutes tops to get to PF Animal Hospital from my home. I left giving myself 20 minutes to get there expecting some traffic, considering my appointment was at 1640. I unfortunately arrived at 1650, and after parking and shutting off my truck, I was called to be informed that I was 12 minutes late and they needed to reschedule. Regardless of me telling her I was in the process of getting my dog out to walk him in, she still told me it didn't matter and I would have to come back another day.
I've been a customer with them since late 2020, and I'm not sure if I can get past this ridiculous policy. I would've gladly waited for an opening or something. At one point, they were caring for all five of my dogs (never turned us away when I was coming for a several thousand dollar visit). Unfortunately, with age comes the inevitable, so now we are down to 3. I have never been late for an appointment here until today. Not once. I can't tell you how many times I have waited in that lobby for over 20 minutes, all while watching multiple customers come and be seen before me and never complain.
I'm so very disappointed in the unrealistic expectations they have for people to make it to an appointment during rush hour traffic. Like I'm sitting at home waiting to take my dogs to an appointment. For context, I get off work at 1700. I had to leave work 2 hours early to drive home and get my dog, just to be told that it was for nothing and my only real option was to take the first half of the next day off in hopes that I'll make it on time for that appointment.
Sorry, PF Animal Hospital, you are out!

Excellent vet care. Terrible customer and front desk service. 3 attempts to fill prescription over the phone took total of 22mins.Still haven't gotten it filled.Upon 3rd call, 6 people on hold ahead of me.Not the first time. Desperately need new office mgr. and staff. Not run well at all for the premium prices they charge.

if i can give 10 stars then i definitely would. i walked in without an appointment(didn’t know one was needed) and my little guy was taken back immediately. not wanting to speak on the situation but the staff reassured me that that was the best option in that current moment. i want to especially give a shout out to lynn. my family and i are forever grateful for you.

Prince Frederick Animal Hospital is amazing! I have been there twice in the past few months. They are very effecient and helpful. When my cat had an accident on the way, a technician was quick to help scoop the carrier and clean it and my cat quickly. Dr. Matteson is an excellent vet. She is kind, caring, and keeps all of your pets situations in mind. My cat has a heart condition so she is conservative with treatments that she knows will cause more harm than good. When you call in with questions, the office staff are happy to help you find the answers. I highly recommend Prince Frederick Animal Hospital for all of your veterinary needs.
