About LA Fitness
LA Fitness offers a variety of amenities at an attractive price. Members can enjoy state-of-the-art equipment, basketball, group fitness classes, a pool, saunas, a Kids Klub, and personal training. The gym is praised for its spaciousness and friendly staff. While the equipment may show signs of age, LA Fitness provides a comprehensive range of workout options, including free weights, squat racks, and multiple benches. The gym also boasts good hours and maintains amenities such as a weight room, cardio equipment, and a track. The equipment is excellent for serious bodybuilding, and the free-weight area is great for those who like handling heavy weights. The gym is well organized, and the equipment is properly spaced, so users don't feel cramped. The management is very friendly, and the cost is considered reasonable considering the facilities and services provided. Despite some issues with maintenance and cleanliness, such as a leaky roof and the presence of "sewer flies" in the pool area and bathrooms, the gym has the potential to improve and reach a 5-star rating with increased attention to these areas. Overall, LA Fitness is considered a good value for its price and offers a solid workout experience.
You can tell this gym peaked in the past and has future potential. Been going for years now and witnessed it evolve along the way. If there was increased attention to maintenance and cleanliness I would have to 4 star rating.
Pros: Spacious 3 floors, suspended indoor track, good selection of equipment, friendly staff
Cons: Sauna is subpar and feels like it’s never hot enough like a sauna should be, leaky roof when it rains and buckets used to catch water, too many “sewer flies” in the pool area and bathrooms. Lastly there is wasted space for a snack bar/smoothie bar.
Good thing about this gym is with good management these changes are doable...read full review
The equipment is excellent for serious bodybuilding. It is far superior to what you find at Planet Fitness. It's a gym, not a resort, which is a big deal for people who don't know the difference. It is well organized, and the equipment is properly spaced, so you don't feel cramped in. The free-weight area is great. It's a big plus if you like handling heavy weights or want to follow your own natural path of motion. If you're an older person and remember the atmosphere in gyms from the 70s and 80s, you'll be right at home. Don't buy into the negative comments. They come from people with limited experience using exercise equipment or training with weights. The cost is very...read full review
I had an experience at a club that made me uncomfortable...I sent an email to the contact listed on the web page and received a call from a gentleman named Alexander that went above and beyond in ensuring the situation would never happen again. I initially was thinkin about finding another gym, but Alexander rectified the situation and now I'm comfortable in saying I'm staying put! Thank you LA Fitness Manager Alexander C !
