And 6 stars for their honesty: I thought that the door knocker was not made of brass, which means it would require brass plating and a higher bill. I said that in a letter. Once it was time to pay they corrected me, 'No, it was solid brass, we polished it', and charged me less. One of those stories you share with your kids and grandkids to educate them.

My sincere thanks to Marlon for taking the time to troubleshoot and repair a hard-to-find antique cupboard hinge. This was not an expensive job, but he treated it as one and, for that, I am grateful and will be back with my Grandma's silver!

I have been sending old silver plate to be replated for several years to Metro Plating. They have always been very courteous and have done fantastic work. I recently sent the piece pictured to them and received an email back from Marlon that he is the new owner. Not only did my piece come out absolutely beautiful but the turnaround time was very quick and the cost was very reasonable. I am including before and after pictures.
