This may be the first time I have ever written a bad review on Google. It seems most people who leave bad reviews are just to complain and spend too much energy on the negatives in life. I always only leave good reviews but I thought for my experience I needed to make others aware. Especially with such a drastic financial and risk of life decision. I went to Dr Allyson Wells for a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. After having 5 kids I wanted to feel better about myself and feel like the woman I did before having children. It was a long hard decision for my husband and I to take the financial leap to do this as well as try to fit such a massive surgery in our family schedule, but we decided it would be best. Before having my surgery, I felt confident in Dr Wells and her expertise. She explained to me that I had an umbilical hernia but she would be able to fix it in surgery. She thought it would be best if I got a breast lift too instead of just the implants. I went with her advice and moved forward with the procedure. I am now over 7 months post surgery and I have a breast that is lower than the other, a nipple with a massive scar around it and my umbilical hernia wasn’t fixed so I have a large outtie belly button which no woman ever wants to have. After surgery she said there wasn’t enough blood supply to my left nipple so she had to leave it half attached for a week and sew it back on under local anesthesia. It was such an uncomfortable experience. I also got a seroma in between my ridge cage that had to have it’s own drain for weeks. She may have removed my drains too early. The seroma has now turned into a fatty looking tissue in between my ribs and she said it needs to be liposuctioned to contour it back to normal. 5 months post surgery I went back to her to explain to her my complications. Revision surgery was needed for 4 things. Belly button, nipple scar correction, my uneven breasts and liposuction for seroma were to be fixed. It was an additional Cost to my first surgery and we did not want to have to pay over $1,000 again to fix these things. We weren’t expecting to have all of these revisions. Dr Wells and her team told me that revision surgery is common. Is it really common for more than one thing? If so patients need to be made aware of this before surgery that they most likely will have to pay for more surgeries in the future. I would like to see the data and numbers on this. She said I would need to go to general surgeon to get belly button fixed. I wish general surgeon would have been brought into the mix before I got my surgery so it all could have been done at once- especially if she wasn’t confident enough to fix it herself. I received a second opinion and was told that this is not common amongst other things. Her staff was very friendly and kind but I felt like Dr wells was difficult to speak to and never let me get a word in. I’ve lost too many tears over my end result. The only thing that gets me by is knowing my husband thinks I am beautiful no matter what. Please do your research before undergoing something drastic to your body and paying thousands.
