Fox Chapel Animal Hospital

So glad I found Fox Chapel Animal Hospital! Dr. Cris and his team provided great care for my elderly cat and when it was time, gracefully and with so much care, assisted with her passing. Their patience and TLC is why they will be my vets for life. My friend who was with me also observed the level of care and attention and switched to Fox Chapel Animal Hospital too! Highly recommend.

On October 21, 2025, our family dog was seen for an x-ray and was sedated for the procedure.

He passed away later that same day, only 11 hours after returning home.

We fully understand that our dog was a senior and that there were risks associated with any medical procedure.
We do not place blame on the clinic for her passing.
However, the clinic prescribed approximately $150 worth of medication, which was never opened or used.
When we requested a refund, our request was declined without compassion or consideration for the situation.

We completely respect clinic policies, but we believe that an exception could have been made under such tragic and exceptional circumstances.
A simple refund or credit would have shown empathy toward a grieving family and helped ease this painful experience.

I have never written a public complaint or review before,
but I feel that I must speak up for my beloved dog, to help ensure that others in similar situations may be treated with more compassion and understanding.

I wanted to write this long overdue review… I have been going to FC Animal Hospital for over the past 15 years with 2 of my females a GSD and GSD/Husky Mix… Lady and Gracie..We had to put down our beautiful baby girl Gracie to rest yesterday... Dr. Cris, Dr. Armie and the ENTIRE staff were so GRACIOUS, so Kind, Compassionate, Professional, and had so much EMPATHY…It was the most emotional thing we had to go through… and I want to thank all the staff for helping me get through this very sad and difficult time for me and my family and my baby girl Gracie.. She is at peace now.. Thank you Dr. Cris, Dr. Armie and all the staff for taking great care of her. The Vargas Family and Gracie.🐾💚🙏🏻

I took my new puppy in for a wellness check and vaccinations. I have had many pets in the past, and out of all the vets I’ve visited, this one is by far the best. The facility is clean and well-organized. We were attended quickly, but the vet took the time to answer all my questions. A lovely technician made sure my puppy had a positive experience. Everyone was extremely helpful, patient, and friendly. I highly recommend this vet!

They have saved two of my animals lives - they are so kind and caring. I highly recommend them!

our dog was grossly misdiagnosed which caused expensive tests, medications that did nothing but ring the register. Our dog has been through hell. She is now on the road to recovery because we went to another vet that has treated her correctly.
If you need annual checkups and typical medicines, then fine. If your pet is severely sick or struggling, you should get alternate consult from another veterinary practice
