Super awesome staff! Made me feel comfortable the whole time and listened to all of my concerns. When the doctor realized my vision had changed so drastically she took the time and double checked everything to make sure I left happy and able to see again!

I started coming to Advanced Family Vision Care fall 2019 and have been a patient of Dr. May's since then. I love how Dr. May always took the time to explain what was happening to my eyes and how to best care for them. I've had no significant eye issues other than changes postpartum and age related changes - but even with these Dr. May has provided comprehensive and thorough care, evaluation and education. I recently had the opportunity to see the office for an emergent issue as I experienced a corneal abrasion for the first time in my life. I was extremely anxious about the amount of pain and sensitivity I was still having >12hr after the injury - and made a same day appointment. I wasn't able to see Dr. May, but I had the good fortune of seeing Dr. Cioffi - who is just as wonderful as Dr. May. Beyond excellent care, Dr. Cioffi provided empathy and support during this stressful and uncomfortable time. Dr. Cioffi took her time explaining what had happened, the natural progression of the injury, how to best treat the injury and what to expect over the next several days. Dr. Cioffi provided me with written instructions as well as flyer with the best lubricating drops to get. She has even texted me in between the initial appt and follow up appt, as well as after the follow up appt to ensure that I was healing appropriately and had no concerns. When I had an issue at the pharmacy - it was quickly addressed by Dr. Cioffi so that there was no delay in getting the needed prescription drops. There are so many things I love about Drs. May and Cioffi - both are patient, understanding, personable, knowledgeable, practice evidence-based medicine, and spend time educating me. Even though they know I am a healthcare professional, they take great care to explain things to me as patient and not a healthcare professional - which is a greatly appreciated especially in times of distress when it's hard to focus. The office staff are also wonderful - they worked tirelessly to get the needed referral from my PCP's office, kept me up-to-date on the status, and were transparent about costs should we not get the referral. They clearly communicated by phone, text and in-person. The optometrist technician was also empathetic, kind and efficient. The optician is always patient with me when selecting and fitting new glasses (as someone who didn't get glasses until her 30s, I don't always know what a good fit is). Despite all the time they spend being empathetic, kind, compassionate, and educating their patients - they are equally efficient. I rarely have a wait when I have an appointment - I am almost always greeted and taken right back. It is obvious that this group understands how to work and function as at team. At my last regular appt Dr. Cioffi actually did all the tech work on me while I was waiting for Dr. May -- I didn't even realize she was the optometrist until this last visit when she cared for me! I highly recommend Advanced Family Vision Care for all your eye needs!
