She told me about other services available next time, discussed colors, gave me her card and said to come back in x time so we can work on growing out my short cut. That strategy led me to Melissa K. at Hair Cuttery in Eldersburg.After 5 cuts or so, on my most recent visit, I brought a family member with me. So I got to watch Melissa cut someone else’s hair. While combing out each section of hair to cut, she would take the time to study the direction of growth. I have watched this family member get many haircuts and never saw any stylist do that!I was leaving a hospital the other day and a man stopped me and, almost forcefully, told me he liked my hair. He seemed really impressed with my cut.I already knew Melissa is giving me the best haircuts I’ve ever had, but it’s always nice to get compliments.With Melissa’s cuts I never go through the gawky stage, of the first week or 2 post-cut. People with very short hair know what I mean.Sometimes I get a trim sooner than I really need it, to get on the same schedule as a family member.Giving a slight trim to already very short hair takes skill. And Melissa is the first stylist I’ve had to do it very well.Melissa is quiet and focused like a surgeon. If you want someone that may have been voted class clown, you might not want Melissa.She takes the time and applies her skills to get the most out each client’s hair texture. She has a rare quality, I call it finesse. Some may call it artistry.My family member loved her recent cut and she said Melissa is very quiet and gentle.“
