The Timbers at Troy course is one of the best public golf courses in haven’t played. The fairwways and greens very well kept. Challenging but very enjoyable. Highly recommend this course. Kevin Smith, the GM was so accommodating and personable and took care of us. Go see them!
Excellent parkland golf, centrally located. Timbers is in great shape right now. Centrally located, bent grass tee to green and interesting holes make for a great time with friends.
I would describe Timbers as a pleasant surprise situated in the perpetual strip malls and office complexes of the Elkridge/Columbia area. It doesn't feel like you're playing in Central Maryland, but rather somewhere a bit more remote.
Weekday rate w/balls came to about $85. Not unreasonable, but I wouldn't pay over $100 on the weekend as I could see pace of play being a major issue here. Staff was friendly and threw in a lunch (probably due to aeration.) Conditions were fair, I thought the fairways were in great shape but around the greens need TLC. Several fringes, tee boxes, and bunker lips were either chewed up or crawling with weeds.... read full review
