“Mr. Sam and his crew are truly exceptional.

I first saw his truck in the Lake Shore Plaza, and the name “The Stumpologist” made me smile. Curious, I quickly dialed the number.

I had previously received multiple quotes for yard work and had worked with other companies, but I never felt confident that they could deliver quality work at a fair price. That changed when I met Sam. He offered to come by the same day to assess the job, and from that point, I was impressed.

After a detailed walkthrough of the project—which included tree work, removal of 6-8 large stumps and 20+ small stumps, an acre of brush hogging and cleanup (large sticks and logs, rock removal, and taking down a broken chain-link fence and some telephone pole sections)- he provided me with a rough estimate, followed by a more detailed quote.

Sam’s pricing was highly competitive, and I believe the amount of work he completed couldn't have been done at a better rate. But the price didn’t reflect the quality—because the work was top-notch. Sam clearly takes great pride in what he does, cutting no corners and ensuring everything is done efficiently and safely.

What really stood out was the honest and friendly relationship that developed. Sam took the time to fully understand my vision and made sure we were aligned on the scope of work. He even returned for a second visit to review any changes and clarify questions, offering thoughtful suggestions along the way.

He was also mindful of my budget, never pressuring, and remained professional and considerate throughout the entire process. His crew was warm and engaging, even taking the time to interact with my 6-year-old son, who was excited to learn and help out.

Another highlight? Sam is a local retired shop teacher, having spent his career educating and delivering results. It's clear that his communication skills, ethics, and passion for his work are on a level that few achieve in any industry.

He proposed once complete, that I could “easily mow the entire space”. As he got started on an area that had been neglected for over 20 years; overgrown with thorns, trash, forest debris, and boulders; he said, “it will be so clean you can set up a picnic table and have lunch.” The results were even better than I imagined.

“Hernando and his crew did an excellent job trimming all the branches that were covering the roof and chimney. They even removed all the dead and weak branches. The guys even helped to reinstall the chimney cap that came off. He also let us let us keep the mulch where they threw all the branches into the wood chipper. Total time was about 3 hours.“

“Arundel Tree Services saved the day!! We were getting estimates on the cutting and removal of a very old, huge and precariously positioned tree we needed taken out. Because the roots were headed towards our underground septic system, this beautiful oak needed to go! Other companies came out measured and either threw in the towel saying they didn’t have the right equipment that could reach the tree from the driveway to the back of the house or were going to charge us a fortune!! We actually needed a total of three trees taken down, as two other ones had roots headed for the foundation of our home!!!! The crew of Arundel Tree Services were fabulous! Very professional, absolutely the most talented bunch of guys I’ve ever seen, doing an extremely hard job in a tough situation! They took all three trees down with this massive crane, then, either shredded the branches, or loaded them on another truck, to be hauled away!
