“For a residential business, it was like walking into a spa! But the real gem is Shay! Hands down, one of the best. I was on a work trip in DC and now I am wishing he worked here on the west coast! If I am ever back in the DC area, I will be his number 1 customer. Thank you so much Shay! You are amazing!“

“Really good experience. I was very curious about the treatment I had as it wasn’t a traditional massage. I was really confused but half way through I realised that what was happening was really working. I have had no problems with my back all evening. Thank you!!!“

“Yes, communication can be difficult and scheduling weird, but this man has given me some of the best massages of my life. It's not a Valentine's Day, spa experience with pan flutes playing in the background as you enjoy a eucalyptus face towel. This is no-frills bodywork. It can be uncomfortable in the moment, but you'll walk out feeling like the Tin Man walking out of the Jiffy Lube. While verbal communication is a challenge, I've found that for me it's not been all that necessary (beyond booking, of course). I usually indicate where I'm carrying tension and how I'd like it treated (deep tissue, sports etc), but I think he just suffers through this part. Once he lays hands on you he knows where to go and what to do. On one occasion I had lingering tension in my neck after a bike crash. After working the neck and shoulders he followed the tension into my cranial muscles and relieved the backburner headache I'd been suffering since my crash. I've not had a problem scheduling but I can see this being difficult. He speaks little English, doesn't appear to have any help, and just wants to work out your trigger points. He also may not appreciate the level of Customer Service we're accustomed to in DC. Again, it's not the Four Seasons. Service up until you get onto the table can be a little unpolished, but the bodywork is Very effective (i.e. uncomfortable in the moment) and the price can't be beat. I don't always go to Koa for massage (sometimes I want me that eucalyptus towel) but i've had probably 500 massages and his are among the very best.“
