I’ve been experiencing total body discomfort due to multiple areas of tightness. With only 2 sessions there has been noticeable amounts of relief. There’s still work left to do so I’m already booked for another 3 appointments. FYI she gets booked up fast…

Alright folks — get comfortable, because this one is a bit long.

I stumbled across Dr. Angie DeBorja online after realizing I had driven past her office on the avenue countless times without knowing what incredible healing was happening inside.

I’ve lived with chronic back pain for over ten years after being struck by a car as a pedestrian, along with other injuries that led to recurring, debilitating flare-ups. Twice those flare-ups put me in the hospital for days at a time. Over the years I’ve seen every kind of traditional doctor, tried every test — X-rays, MRIs, CT scans — taken the medications, followed the protocols. I also explored many alternative therapies, some of which brought short-term relief. But no matter the approach, nothing created lasting change.

What hurt almost as much as the pain itself was how unseen I felt. Being told, “At least the scans didn’t show anything!” sounds comforting, but when you’re in severe pain, it feels invalidating. If something had shown up, it would have explained what I was experiencing and given someone something concrete to treat. Instead, I was left feeling unheard, dismissed, and sometimes even subtly accused of it being “in my head.”

After my most recent hospitalization, I was completely defeated. At 36, I felt like I had the spine of a 99-year-old. Chronic pain brings with it hopelessness, depression, fear of movement, and a constant background of anxiety. It drains joy from life.

    Then I found Dr. Angie.

Her unassuming office on the avenue has become the first place that has actually helped me in a meaningful, lasting way. Dr. Angie is an extraordinarily attentive listener — you can feel that she is truly present with you, which is incredibly rare. Her work is alternative, but grounded in science, and it feels thoughtful, precise, and deeply respectful of the body.

After just four sessions, my nervous system feels completely different. I feel calmer, more stable, and no longer stuck in a constant state of tension. During each session, I could literally feel areas of my body slowly stop guarding — something I didn’t even realize I had been doing all day, every day, even when no danger was present.

After my very first session, I felt more embodied in my body than I had in years.

My daily pain, which used to sit around a 6–7, is now often a 0–3. And when it does flare up, it’s usually because of things I know I need to manage better — dehydration, stress, or sitting too long.

Dr. Angie is an incredibly powerful healer. I honestly could cry with gratitude for finding her. She has given me something I was starting to believe I’d never have again: hope, safety in my body, and a path back to living without constant pain. I highly recommend anyone that's been living with long term chronic pain to see Dr.Angie.

Myofacial release and physical therapy with Dr. Angie has been so helpful. I’ve been managing stuck muscles and chronic pain in my neck and shoulders from an RSI developed in early adulthood. I’m so encouraged that even after 25 years they are easier to unwind after treatments. The hands-on treatments with Dr. Angie is about the best I’ve had! Such bliss. Super grateful to Dr. Angie. It’s amazing to have someone like her in Baltimore. We are blessed.

Dr. Angie has miracle hands. When I first reached out, I explained how stiff my body was after an accident and how it was stopping me from working out the way I used to. From my very first session, I left feeling genuinely relieved. Dr. Angie took the time to assess my body, quickly identified every trigger point, and applied exactly the right techniques.

I went back for a second session and walked out feeling even better. She consistently checks in, listens carefully, and even provides at-home exercises to help you continue improving.

This is honestly the best type of bodywork you can get. Yes, it’s on the expensive side, but it’s worth every single dollar. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs real relief and effective care.

This was a great experience. I was visiting from out of town and Dr. deBorja was about to fit me into her schedule. I was so grateful for her healing hands and guidance on moving forward to care for myself. Thank you!

My husband loves Dr. Angie! She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and her effective body work aided my husband as he prepared for hip surgery and also helped him during his recovery.

I have told everyone I know to go see Dr. Angie. I’ve struggled with TMJ related pain for so long and no one has come anywhere close to helping me as much as she did in just ten sessions. She’s also one of the warmest and kindest people you’ll meet. I can’t say enough good things about her.

Angie was easily the best physical therapist I've ever had. I visited her for a chronic and uncomfortable lower-back issue that had popped up with no apparent incident as a cause; an MRI just showed age-typical deterioration in a few vertebrae. It was really bothering me, inhibiting my usual physical activities like biking, running, and splitting firewood, causing me pain in my lower back and buttocks that made me disinclined to do any of it. Angie's school of PT, myofascial release, is much more hands-on than the other types I've experienced, and over the course of a few visits, I started to see definite improvements. By the time we completed five or six visits over seven weeks, I was back to splitting wood all day and had no pain. I hate to declare that I'm cured but I am definitely feeling 100 better because of Angie. She's also a very pleasant person with a great sense of humor. I recommend her heartily.

I had a fantastic experience at deBorja! Angie is extremely knowledgeable and consultative. She took the time to educate me on my condition as well as make really thoughtful suggestions for treatment, compression garments, ways to go through insurance to save on costs, and all kinds of other information. She also followed up after my session (I had a lymphatic drainage massage) to ask for feedback and send me more information regarding the compression garments we discussed during my first appointment/treatment session. Before I even scheduled the initial session, she took the time to have a phone consultation with me to make sure I had a genuine need for treatment. I will be continuing to see her and highly recommend her!!

Angie has been kind, welcoming, and has listened thoroughly to all of my concerns, which has resulted in some of the most effective and tailored treatment I’ve experienced in over a decade of seeing various physical therapy providers! I highly recommend her.
