Fourth time here, which was a 1st time take out. Oops! They slipped. Large serving of dry rice, small portion of greens and I had to put on my reading glasses to find the overcooked salmon. Also pricey. Perhaps a trip to your competitor SB on Harford Rd. is calling. DO BETTER!

The food is absolutely amazing. I jus don't believe in the 15% gratuity on carryout orders. Now, if I dine in, there still shouldn't be a gratuity automatically unless it's over a certain # of ppl. Jus my opinion. I'm certain tht I'm not the only one who feels this way

Updated review: I removed a star, but would have preferred to just remove a half star. However, yelp does not allow half stars. A star was removed because not only is it overpriced for the portion size that is given, but they have a nerve to charge the same amount of gratuity for to go orders that they charge for dining in. This is very ridiculous... so I will never order to go again. If I can't do outdoor dining, then I'll just go to Southern Blues where I'm guaranteed to get more for my money. My first few visits were carryout dinner and carryout brunch meals (prior to the ridiculous to go order gratuity charge). Brunch was excellent each time. I only order the shrimp and grits without bacon. Shockingly they actually serve a good sized portion for this meal. Dinner food was good, but I noticed the portion size was reduced multiple times with the salmon rolls. However, I returned to give this black owned business another try using the outdoor dining option and plus overall I love the food. The waiter was great and I was happy to receive better customer service while dining outdoors than the blah service I received during my carryout experience. One time I visited while the bartender was present and she was very nice. The host at the time was not the most welcoming friendly kind of host that I'm use too, but everyone else was very nice and friendly. (New host is much better now!) Anyways the waiter was great so my outdoor dining experience went well. The food was excellent. Everything is always seasoned well. My biggest complaints are that they are overpriced for the portion sizes that you get, they charge gratuity on to go orders, and they charge for refills on sweet tea. Like come on now that tea bag makes enough profit to offer free refills to customers. SMH The inside and outside are both small, but nice.Indoor has several 2 seat dining tables and a half of a booth. There is also a good size bar for the small space. They did good with making sure it doesn't look crammed (Not sure how it will look if they are ever busy). I love the outdoor dining option because of the pandemic. If it rains, still go because outdoor dining is covered. I seen someone with a hookah so I'm guessing that is a new option. The waiter did a great job wiping down the tables and chairs without request just to make sure no pollen was at the table we selected. There appears to be a small unpaved parking lot in the back, but I think the street parking is better. Brunch: Shrimp and grits... 5 stars! Very flavorful and definitely my go to breakfast meal. If you don't eat bacon, make sure you mention it to the waiter. Dinner: 1. Everything rolls... 5 stars! Yams, greens and mac n cheese rolled up and fried... Taste so good together. It comes with a sweet heat sauce (I think the same as the one mentioned below for the salmon rolls). The rolls are good with or without the dipping sauce. I prefer eating them without the dipping sauce because the candied yams juice was the perfect sweetness to mix up with the cheesy mac n cheese. 2. Salmon honey old bay nuggets... 5 stars! Nuggets cooked perfectly with that good ole honey old bay flavory. Perfect texture 3. Fries... 3 stars... I like the season on the fries, but I do not like thin string fries. I eat fries to eat potatoes not skin lol but I ate the fries... They were good flavor wise, but I just can't get over the thin stringy selection... Like why did they pick that kind of fry? 4. Catfish sandwich... 5 stars! Seasoned well! 5. Salmon rolls... 3 stars... This item changed in size twice in the few months that I've become a repeat customer, but the price stays the same. All menu items are very flavorful, but this one I don't get the same savory experience. They are not bad, but I guess I was looking for something special that can make me forget about them being overpriced and reduced in portion size, but nope. This item comes with a sweet heat sauce like a Thai chili or something like that... sauce was good though, but don't dip too much if you don
