I received a brilliantly fast kidney transplant that soon freed me from hemodialysis. The immediate surgical and transplant care was excellent. General follow-up care is good. However, if you are outside DC and get admitted to a local hospital, there is no easily available physicians direct line. So if there are questions your local nephrologist or hospitals has, I'm my observance it can take hours to days to receive a response. And, unless you are an immediate transplant patient, it felt too me as tho I was dropped off in a random hospital room begging for Transplant Team attention. MGTI truly has FANTASTIC medical practitioners, but poor business model for urgent follow-up care. For example, I had pneumonia and a fever and was worried about sepsis, and was told abruptly to get seen an by my local hospital. Then when my hospital doctors tried to call MGTI, no one picked up the phone or returned a message. I had to call someone at MGTI directly and beg for the physicians direct line, and then was largely left to feel ignored. I LOVE the MGTI medical practitioners, but HATE the flawed business first mentality of the bean counters. Solution: the main phone line needs to be manned and attended 24x7 and an on-call Transplant Coordinator needs to be available to patients 24x7. And, when physicians call, they need to have a dedicated number or press-path so that their calls are answered promptly and routed effectively 24x7.

I’ve been with Dr Rangnekar for the past 10 years. I was very lucky to have chosen him. He has a great bedside manner and a really good Dr. He listens to your concerns and acts accordingly. He was part of my liver transplant team. He along with the team, saved my life. I will be eternally grateful to them all. I highly recommend Dr Rangnekar. He’s definitely 5 stars ⭐️ in my book.

1st time at new location. Parking was difficult but made it in. Enjoyed my visit Dr. Rangnekar. We made a plan moving forward that works for me. A pleasure as always.

A serene and calm office as compared to the Georgetown University Hospital location.

The staff and the doctor are helpful and good at helping us understand what is happening and what is next. We realize Jim’s status is complicated but it it comforting to understand the real status and what we need to do to follow up. ?
