Stella rebuilt our two-unit condo in Somerville after a huge fire. It was a gut-to-studs job that also meant dealing with insurance and a small and involved HOA. The finished work is excellent, and their subs are excellent too. We had some custom elements we wanted and they made them all turn out beautifully (curved framing, transom windows, curved tilework, etc). They handled all the permitting, which in Somerville is no small thing. Erik was responsive throughout and answered every detailed question we had, including a lot of line-by-line billing and insurance questions. A job this size and this messy is hard, and they got it done well. I'd hire them again.

Update 2 years later - can’t speak highly enough of the owner Erik. I had a concern with my tub (turned out to be nothing) and Erik came personally to our house ASAP to check everything and make sure it was ok. Erik runs an honest and trustworthy business, and it’s very comforting to know that Stella stands by their work. Thanks, Erik!

We hired Stella to do a huge renovation of our 1890’s fixer-upper house based on recommendations from 2 colleagues who had similarly large projects. Erik Kortz, the owner, and our project manager, Joe Forte, answer every single text and call and are experts at navigating the complicated landscape of home renovations. It’s clear… read full review

A large tree branch had fallen and made a hole in our roof after a blizzard and Stella was extremely prompt in coming out to take a look at the damage and provide speedy quotes for repair.

After comparing multiple companies, I decided to hire Stella Construction & Home Services to replace my roof and five skylight replacements, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

From start to finish, both Stella and the owner, Steve, demonstrated excellent communication skills. They kept me updated throughout the entire process—from explaining my options, working with me on availability (since it was the middle of winter) to pulling permits and organizing dumpster and material… read full review
