I’ve been seeing Dr. Leibole for years, first for astigmatism and in the last couple of years for MGD and dry eyes. He is so attentive, patient, and completely unwilling to accept the chronic discomfort in my eyes I thought I would just have to learn to put up with. He and his wonderful team tried so many things and worked so hard to care for me. I’m especially grateful to Jess Flanagan, the IPL/RF treatment specialist, for always finding a way to fit me into her packed schedule so my eyes don’t get too uncomfortable, putting me at ease during the treatment, and sending me back out into the world with eyes that feel normal again. I underwent Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) with Dr. Leibole in April of 2022. Dr.Leibole and his staff are so welcoming and kind, always answering my questions throughly. The surgery itself and recovery afterward went so well. The office has always fit me into their busy schedules for any eye- related emergencies. I have referred a few friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to check out his office over the years if interested in Lasik or ASA.

I underwent LASIK at Eye Care and Laser Surgery of Newton-Wellesley in December of 2018, and more than seven years later, the results continue to be outstanding. Prior to the procedure, I had significant astigmatism in one eye along with worsening distance vision that was interfering with everyday activities and overall quality of life. I spent roughly 18 months attempting to adapt to glasses, which ultimately resulted in frequent headaches and ongoing practical limitations.
After careful consideration, I elected to move forward with LASIK under the care of Dr. Marc Leibole, and it remains one of the best healthcare decisions I have made. As of January 2026, I continue to maintain 20/20 vision, with stable, lasting results that have not diminished over time. The improvement in daily functioning and visual clarity has been substantial and enduring.
Beyond the excellent outcome, the experience at the practice has always been exceptional, in my opinion. As a healthcare provider myself, I can attest that the office staff is consistently respectful, professional, and accommodating, and they manage to balance efficiency with a genuine sense of warmth and humor that immediately puts patients at ease. Every interaction reflects a well-run ophthalmology practice that values both precision and patient comfort.
I have zero reservations recommending LASIK at Eye Care and Laser Surgery of Newton-Wellesley to anyone considering vision correction. Could not more highly recommend! Even though the office was very busy, they made room for me (a new patient) in the schedule a couple hours after I called. The waiting room was the most positive and joyful place I have been in a while. They clearly care about their patients and the atmosphere they create. Doctor Candal, was extremely smart, kind, caring, wise, careful. The team is comprehensive and they clearly know their work deeply and also care about the people. This is so rare!!

I got LASEK here and can say that between the consultations, the procedure, and the follow-up appointments that this seems like a great place for eye. From Jen and the other secretaries' committed service at the front, to Kelly's consistently upbeat and friendly demeanor, to Dr. Leibole's effective service, I've been happy to come by the place for my appointments. Though I've had a few times where I've had to wait a lot longer than expected, it wasn't a big enough issue to take a star off considering everything else.

I'm giving a star because I have to, I reached out on april 26 2024 Got an email that dr. Marc L would follow up Monday it's tuesday 4pm and not a word from this place. I am looking for a reliable place to get lasik but looks Like this office it's too busy and can't handle an extra patient.
