About Community Counseling of Bristol County, Inc.

Community Counseling of Bristol County, Inc. (CCBC) is a mental health facility that many clients find caring and supportive. The staff, from secretaries to the director, are described as compassionate, respectful, and genuine in their concern for clients. One reviewer shared that, during a difficult time dealing with PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, they felt like family at CCBC and learned how to live with their diagnoses. The staff teach clients to love themselves and others, making a positive impact on their lives. Clients appreciate the staff's consideration and the respectful treatment they receive, which they find rare and valuable. However, some reviews mention issues with staff turnover and concerns about the overall management. A client noted that the treatment team has improved over the years and praised the psychiatrist and case workers for their kindness and professionalism. They also expressed frustration with low wages for mental health workers, suggesting that better pay and hiring more experienced staff could improve care quality. The reviewer emphasized that staff burnout is a real problem and criticized the corporate aspects of the organization, advocating for a more community-based and non-profit approach to mental health care. They believe that staff dedication and ethical leadership are essential for CCBC to become a leader in mental health services rather than just an average facility. Overall, CCBC is seen as a place where clients can receive caring support, but improvements in management, staff treatment, and organizational values could make it an even better community resource.

My experience at CCBC was welcoming but very little depth in sessions. I felt a lack of support and that my concerns may not have been understood or even unaddressed. I never reached advancement. Overall, this was a step forward, I have more people involved, and now my care has been shifted to more intensive. I'd recommend routine evaluations to ensure consistent effectiveness.
