Richard James is very good at this work, and can work out complicated situations easily. Service is very affordable. The reason I'm giving 4 stars rather than 5 is that communication is sometimes inconsistent - like, they may just forget to call you back. Some emails get a quick response, but some do not. So you need to be mindful to take initiative and call them to check on status or give new information, but if you do that, you'll get a great value and taxes done correctly and find problems or savings you may not have found otherwise.

Mr. Ray James is one of the most extraordinary tax preparers that we are so fortunate to have. In 2016 when my family moved back to Boston, a local CPA has severely messed up our IRS and State tax filing and caused us huge penalty instead refunds. Then we found Ray James from a church friend who has helped their taxes filing over 20 years. It's hard to say how awesome Rich James has been over the years. The guy is a just a rock solid, quick-turnaround CPA, with a nose for detail and integrity. Many many years ago we had a complicated stock option/W2 mix-up with corrected W2s and corrected 1099s all over the place. Rich sniffed out exactly what was going on, filed the return correctly -- and ever since then we've been using James Associates for our taxes. We even moved out of state (to a state with no state income tax) and we're STILL using Rich.He's punctual, correct, and knows his stuff.
