I met Shira when I was dealing with a shoulder issue that drastically effecting my strength and mobility. I saw several doctors and physical therapists and was told that I’d most likely need surgery. Then, in come me Shira who I met through the CrossFit community. Shira was able to identify and treat the issue which lead to a complete recovery, avoiding surgery. When my 10 year old son fractured his ankle, needless to say, Shira was my first call when the cast came off for PT. For obvious reasons, it was difficult to get an appointment. Here comes the human element. Kaitlyn, hearing my anxiety and understanding how concerned I was, fit my son into her busy schedule to see him. On our first visit, she was able to make Michael feel so comfortable and was his fears and anxieties while being so thorough and attentive where he was at before treatment. SO THOROUGH, caring, and empathetic. Add this to her knowledge and ability, it’s no wonder she’s booked solid. Kaitlyn — thank you! You are a blessing. Shira — thank you too! You are also a blessing.
Shira is the gold standard for physical therapy! I’m an avid runner, swimmer and a professional dog walker so PT is essential to me, and I have seen several Dr.’s over the years. The thing that has impressed me about Shira the most is her diagnostic process. With other PT’s, I feel like they have been “guessing,” or “shooting from the hip” when figuring out what is actually wrong with me, and the sense has been that without xrays or other scans, I can’t have more of an actual diagnosis. Other doctors have asked me about my symptoms, and taken what I say at face value, and used that to treat me. But Shira does exact and calculated physical tests to figure out what’s wrong, and then presents a structured treatment plan. I also don’t feel like she’s trying to keep me around in treatment in order to simply make money from me. With some PT’s, I’ve felt like the goal is to never discharge me. But with Shira, I feel like she wants me to leave, because she wants to “cure” me. She’s also so nice, so personable and just fun to be around! I’m an ultra marathon runner and just completed my first 100 mile race. A few weeks before the race, I sprained my ankle on a trail run, and immediately went to see Shira. She did such a great job helping me that, in the race, I literally felt no pain and had no pain after the race! Pretty impressive for a 33 hour effort! I don’t think I could have done this ultra without her.
