This is the best Dominican hair salon ever ☺️ I’ve been here twice and got the best treatment. I got a relaxer done and deep condition with a blow and flat iron all the while using my own hair products.. please be aware that you need to speak or understand Spanish if you are going to Spanish speaking hair salon and if you don’t, can’t or wont speak Spanish.. what you need to do is bring your phone that has Google translation so you can communicate to your stylist how you want your hair after that you shouldn’t run into any problems with them..
I've been coming to Elegance for over 10+ years although parking was terrible. They have since moved further down Tremont Street and parking is WORSE, mostly residential parking so I don't go that often. This morning I called and spoke to my stylist Faja (spelling?) who I loved and is awesome was told to come in around 11. After 30+ mins (due to construction) I finally find a spot. Doors are locked (understandably because they're in the basement area) so I press press the RING doorbell w/camera several times and NOTHING!!! No one bothers to come to door or responds. I then noticed I received 2 random texts from 2 different numbers asking how can I help you? I respond to 2nd text "Who are you?" and they respond "Elegance Beauty Salon". Have you ever heard of such a thing? Needless to say I responded not favorably as I had now wasted 2 hours of my time and could've done a walk-in at another establishment when I first called and be on my way home by now. It's been now another 30+ minutes and now no response to my response. CRICKETS!!! Not to mention the place is nice, but is a death trap. In the event of a fire,... there is no 2nd means of egress if that one flight of stairs into the stylist area (basement) area is blocked and not accessible.
I’ve been going to this salon for years. When it use to be up the street, Maritza is my hair stylist and she is so good, as an African American woman she specializes in my hair ,I can’t go to no one else, her blow dry is amazing, my sister put me on to her and I thank her for that cause it was a win for me. I’m very picky when it comes to my hair and people doing it. I only trust her and she can color some hair too.
