“I've been using Historical Slate Roofing since ~2015, when the snowpocalypse was causing ice dams on multiple houses on our street. They went up to shovel excess snow off, and then we had them back to inspect the roof, install snow guards (to stop the snow from sliding off dangerously), ice/water shield, seal/repair the gutters, and install a new rubber roof for a flat area. We've since had them out to replace the deteriorated ridge cap, and every 2-3 years when high winds knock the odd slate off. The owner, Kevin, is a nice guy, and knows what he is talking about. He's very responsive, and is happy to explain things to customers. He'll even send you photos of the work if you want (I've attached a few). The prices seem very fair for the work being done. If you need roofing work, I highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed.“

“We got two quotes to replace our 20+ year old roof as well as the gutters and skylights. The first company (large regional company) sent out a sales person who put on a 60-minute sales pitch after only ever looking at the roof from street level. Universal Roofing was the second company to come look. Igor up was walking on our roof within 2-minutes of arriving for the quote and took a bunch of pictures to point out a few issues we didn't know we had. The quote was slightly less than our expectation (and significantly less than the other company) and Igor answered every question that we had. He also revised the estimate to include some additional small items we requested at no extra cost (another unexpected surprise). We felt confident in Universal Roofing and cancelled other scheduled quotes.Scheduling for the work was quick, workers were on time and worked fast, and the clean up was pretty thorough. Igor was very communicative through the whole process (which only took a day and a half), sent multiple pictures of the work in progress, and addressed all questions very quickly. There was a minor potential issue with the gutters and he sent the crew back quickly to address it after we notified him.Time will of course tell how well the roof/gutters/skylights hold up, but there is a 10-year workmanship guarantee and Igor genuinely seems like he stands by his work/crew.
