“I just had my 2nd appointment at Expressions with Lina, and needed to take the time to write a review because my hair and experience were just that good. I am a city girl that has come to the burbs (love/hate), but finding city quality without having to cross the bridge is my mission, and exressions nails it. SUMMARY:Product wise they are super high end (back bar and for sale) which is a must, but not necessarily hard to find. The second part, which Lina and her co-owner both nail, is continuing education without being in the city, and pairing that with a solid hair background and history so that the trends are achievable but the integrity of your hair is maintained! MY EXPERIENCE: I came to Lina with 12 week grown out roots (I'm a level 5 and have a level 10 color block in the front), and needed a new hairdresser after my regular had a long term injury. She took the project on, but most importantly treated every piece of hair on my head like it was in the front. I had a band from leaving my roots for so long, and during my 2nd appointment she and her co-owner lovingly corrected it, even though Lina had a flight to catch for a familly emergency, they worked together and made my hair absolutely perfect. They also provided honest feedback about a longterm plan for my hair while achieving exactly what I wanted in the meantime. I couldn't be more pleased and I am so happy to have one less errand to run in the city so I can spend time complaining about the suburbs!“

“Chatgpt actually recommended Hair Passion based on a convo I had with it about my hair. I had been in a hair crisis the last 4 yrs, not really liking anything I was doing with it. Jaclyn had quite the challenge with me. I barely put any effort into my hair, just 500 degrees of heat with a flatiron, but expected to wake up looking beautiful. Do I part in the middle or side? Ehh depends on the day. Do I wear it wavy or straight? Depends. Do I let it air dry or blow dry? Sometimes. Do I use product? Nope. Challenge accepted. Of course I left the salon feeling beautiful, but the real challenge was what I would look like once I washed my hair and had to style myself. Jaclyn you did not disappoint. Love it so much! “Due to some recent health issues and stress my hair was falling out at an upsetting rate. I had long, beautiful hair and I knew to make myself more comfortable and hopefully put less tension on my scalp, I needed to cut it. I also knew that if I set an appointment somewhere for days in advance I would probably back out. So in my mind, finding somewhere that day would be the only way to go through with it. I had never been to Nicolo but it had very high ratings online so I gave them a call. I am so glad I did. Luckily they had stylists with availability that evening I asked to work with someone who had experience with cutting textured hair types. They paired me with Christine. When I got there the vibe was warm and inviting and I was the most nervous I'd been for a hair cut probably ever. Christine patiently listened to my concerns and goals, seemed genuinely empathetic and quickly got to work. She really made me feel heard and reassured me that I was doing the right thing and didn't try to talk me out of the length I wanted. I am really glad I trusted her and the salon with this hard decision and I really love my haircut and I am feeling so much better.“

I have had very long hair for decades, since I was a child, and I'm extremely attached to it. I was devastated and very afraid when, due to an injury, my hair unexpectedly became severely matted. I am incredibly grateful to have found Princess from Gonikai beauty who, through great skill and compassion, carefully dematted all of my hair over the course of sixteen hours! To say that she went above and beyond would be an understatement. She stayed as long as it took to completely save my hair, which was incredibly helpful because otherwise there would have been a long delay that would have lost progress. She cares so deeply about hair and her clients. The love she shows for hair is unparalleled! And even though she took her time and was careful, she was still more efficient than another salon that had expertise in dematting. I truly cannot recommend Gonikai Beauty enough, including for anyone desperate to save their hair.
