Another wonderful round at Juniper Hill! Played Lakeside today with my teenage son. The narrow fairways make it the right amount of challenging. Very well maintained and surrounded by beautiful wooded areas.
Riverside course has more challenging greens, but more open fairways to drive into; also a great course to play.
Clubhouse team always stands out as very warm and welcoming. Greens and cart fees are very reasonable. Highly recommend booking a tee time here at one of their courses!
About Juniper Hill Golf Course
Juniper Hill Golf Course is a family-owned public golf course with a rich history of 93 years. It offers two distinct 18-hole courses: Riverside, a spacious course alongside the Assabet River, and Lakeside, a narrow, tree-lined course with views of Lake Chauncy. Reviewers appreciate the beauty of both courses, noting that Riverside is particularly well-maintained and presents a fair challenge. Lakeside is also praised for being in great shape and featuring friendly staff. While many enjoy the overall experience, some have expressed concerns about the condition of the greens, especially after recent aeration. Despite these issues, the scenic environment and good amenities make Juniper Hill Golf Course a recommended destination for golfers. Visitors often travel from afar to enjoy a round here, highlighting its appeal across Massachusetts. Both courses are well-maintained and fun to play, with Riverside being more forgiving for the average golfer and Lakeside being a bit more narrow. The courses are generally in excellent condition, with well-kept greens and fairways. Pace of play is usually good, and the staff is friendly. The only minor complaint is that beer is served in plastic cups at the turn or beer cart.
Reviews
The course is in great shape. Riverside was wet in spots because of all the rain yesterday but not bad at all. I play every Tuesday on the women's league and today was perfect weather.
A great set of courses. The folks in the pro shop and some of the starters (not all but some) need customer service lessons. They see you as an annoyance not a customer. They will help but often sigh, add a backwards comment or be deliberately provocative. Shame, but noticable. It isn't even just me, I see it happening with other folks. Anyway, fun course but people need work.
