“Our male cat was behaving odd and seemed to be in discomfort. We thought he ate something he shouldn't. Turns out he had a urinary blockage and they were able to clear it. A few days later I noticed he wasn't breathing right. Brought him back to tufts. His heart was enlarged and he was in heart failure due to not being able to expel the the iv fluids from the previous treatment. They kept him a few days. He's now on a few daily meds and followed by a cardiologist. He's doing much better than expected. We're grateful to have Tufts nearby. Also I highly recommend pet insurance. $$“

“The team at Tufts saved my 11 year old dog's life. Yes, it was pricey but I am forever grateful my dog received excellent care and she healed wonderfully. She was brought to the ER after having gone through the trash. We got there late in the evening and after talking to the doctor she was on the books for an endoscopy at 1:30am. Unfortunately at this point all the garbage had turned into a ball in her lower GI and they didn't want to keep causing trauma to her esophagus. They had to open her up and thank goodness it went this route. They found a few a secrets my old girl was hiding away. Tufts called me probably 7 or 8 times during the night and into the wee hours of the morning as they kept finding stuff and continuously updated me and educated me on these concerns. Not only was the wad of trash removed but so was her spleen and a biopsy was taken of her liver. One problem that threw us for a loop was her gallbladder. It was decided during surgery that it would be monitored and taken out after she healed from this round of surgery. However, after the surgeon discussed the state the gallbladder was in with the care team it was prioritized to be taken out immediately. So my poor dog went through 2 emergency surgeries in under 12 hours and was in the ICU for 3 nights. I was understandably an absolute mess throughout this ordeal but the folks at Tufts were nothing but kind to me (including the accounting department!) Even though the cost added up quick, I wasn't blindsided by it as they informed me up front what each surgery and her additional care would cost (thankful for CareCredit). They updated me when they said they would and didn't do a thing to my dog before speaking to me first. They didn't rush me off the phone and answered any question I had and discussed at length everything she through. I am so thankful for how Tufts handled everything and above all saving my girl's life!“
