rude owner, bad service. she only knows one cut and ..well, look at her personal style. you can't walk in expecting much. salon is nice inside but too bad the cacklin hen isn't.

Worst hair experience I've ever had. I paid TWICE what I would normally pay to get my hair done and when I saw the receipt I saw that she charged me for extra color and extra toner (I have medium length hair and have NEVER needed extra color) not to mention my 5pm appointment went until 11:30 at night and I completely missed plans that I had made for 9 o'clock. (Usually 4 hours and more than enough time to be done with a full foil) once I was FINALLY done I looked in the mirror and wanted to cry because my hair was repulsive! It was huge stripes of orangey yellowish and huge clumps of my natural color in between. I ended up having to pay to have it fixed by someone else. Don't waste your time or money. I have never written a yelp review in my life but this experience that left me in tears made me want to share to make sure that no one goes here. I've been getting my hair colored at various salons for 15 years and have never had an experience like this.

I have not been to a salon in 20 years because stylists looked at my hair and cringed or cut several inches off without my permission. From the very beginning I was assured I would be consulted with about every step of my coloring and they guarantee their work. I was hesitant to hope that my hair would like like the picture i brought in. LJ and Eric were so warm and friendly, stayed late, and created a look that was BETTER than the picture I brought in. They are true artists. And I am so pleased with the results.

L.J. And her staff have repeatedly shown themselves to be excellent stylists as well as costumer service gurus even in difficult situations. My hair has never looked more stunning and manageable than after going there. I highly recommend The Hair Hop to anyone and everyone!

Awful!!!!!! DONT GO HERE! This women doesn't know what she's doing with hair! Paid $120 for my hair for a color (I didn't want.) I asked to fix it and she failed to do so. I told her I still was un happy with my hair since she didn't listen to me and what I wanted. So she then banned me from the salon. SUPER Unprofessional!

I normally don't write reviews but after my experience at LJ's Hair Hop, I felt it absolutely necessary to let others know what this place is all about. I started going to Ljs a few years ago. I have dark brown hair (almost black). I showed LJ a picture of Jennifer Lopez's hair color and asked LJ if she could duplicate the same color on me. She assured me she could. For over two years she tried to get the color right but failed every time. I don't know why I keep coming back. One day she colored my hair and my hair started disinergrating in my hands. Each time I walked out of there I still had about a good 2-3 inches of root color. My friends and family told me to run and never go back. They all told me she did not have any idea how to color hair. I know now that my friends were all right. The last straw was when I went to her to have the huge dark chunks of black/brown hair underneath my 5 colors of hair, which included colors of blond, bleach blond, yellow and brassy orange (from all the numerous times she F'd up), and I told her to color the brown/black chucks blond. I walked out of there that day paying 250.00 and spending 5 and a half hours of my day in this salon with her trying to fix her mistakes. I paid for her F up. She turned my hair yellow. I was charged for all kinds of treatments and toners to try to make the yellow go away. Then when I complained about the outrageous price, she was argumentative. I left there that day knowing I would never come back. I did not wash my hair for a few days. When I washed it there was the yellow again and the huge brown/black chunks of hair were still all there. I said to myself, "what the hell did she do?" She had done absolutely nothing except turn my hair yellow, left the huge dark brown/black chunks underneath it, and left me with 2-3" of dark roots showing and charged me money. I had to go to Italy in a few days and had a lot of running around to do. I knew I would not have any time within 2 days to get in to see her to have her try to fix it. When I returned from Italy 9 days later, I immediately texted her and followed up 2 days later with a phone call after she ignored my text. Two weeks went by and I still had not heard from her. Fifteen days later I get a email from someone claiming to be her "Salon Administrative Director". This is what the salon administrative director wrote: "LJ has received your texts and voice mails. She wanted me to let you know that every time she has tried to respond to you she has gotten interrupted. She is coordinating a Grand Re-opening and training some new employees." Needless to say I was even more ticked off that she has to have someone do her dirty work. I found it very unprofessional that Lj could not take two minutes out of her day to call back a client that clearly voiced unhappiness with the outcome of her hair. I also find it very inappropriate how a so called professional with 20 years of experience can take advantage of someone by claiming they know how to color hair and will get the color right. I should have run when she made my hair fall out. A professional would have been up front and honest with me after the second time they f'd up trying to color my hair blond and would have told me they can't do it. I felt like a guinea pig. A professional would have immediately called their client within a day or 2 at the very most and told them to come back in and that they would fix the color at no charge. LJ did none of the above. I have never been so disgusted and disappointed in a hair stylist in my life. She charges outrageous prices and does not know what the f_ _ k she is doing.. Every time I walked into her salon no-one was there. Now no why. I never saw any other stylists just her. These other good reviews are obviously from friends of hers. There no parking. So you have to risk your car being towed from willie's steakhouse across the street. Do not waste your time or money. There are so many other honest and professional stylists that have 20+ years o

I've had my hair cut/colored by LJ for years. I've lived in different cities along the east coast and she's by far the most creative stylist I've ever known. I come in from the Boston area to see her every few weeks, the online appointments have made scheduling much easier! I trust her opinion, and she's someone I can rely on when I went a new look or big change, or something subtle and simple. She has a great eye and vision and her suggestions and input always hit the mark. She truly cares about her clients and makes everyone feel like family. The hair hop is quite a hidden jem in Shrewsbury.
