I went in today for a 90 minute massage with Pamela and she was wonderful. I have a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and she did a great job of working out the kinks. I sometimes feel like I have to choose between working out the knots or relaxing during a massage and Pamela managed to do both and I left feeling like new. I’ll be back to see her!
The massage therapists are wonderful and provide relaxing massages. However, the front reception staff are subpar in my opinion doing the bare minimum and act as if they are so bored. If I ask about making an appointment on a particular day or time, I might be told it is not available. I'm okay with that, but I'm rarely offered something else such as "we don't have a 90 minute massage on that date, but we could book a 60 minute massage on that date. If that won't work for you, our next 90 minute massage slot we have is on X date. Would either of these work for you?" It wasn't that way when I joined several years ago. I'm very disappointed in this lack of customer service...read full review
BUG BITE AND COLD AC DURING THE MASSAGE: A Tale of Woe: Normally I would have recommended Massage Envy but at this location I had a great technician - Jose- but froze due to his inability to manage the air blowing in me the 90 minutes. My hands were like ice. The room was about 68 degrees. I can usually determine the temperature within that range closely. When I finished and told the manager, she said "I don't feel cold". She was dressed and didn't have air blowing down on her all that time. Furthermore the waiting area near her office was cold, I sat there on this rainy day with my coat on-- and I get hot easily. Worse yet I was BITTEN by a bug in my eyelid area by my nose when I was face down in that ring. All of these franchises have old massage tables. I know that the bite occurred there because when I dressed and put my glasses on the nose tab sits right there and it was tender and swollen. I initially ignored it. But the next day it was swollen and has a little pus, so I went to Urgent care for Antibiotics. I called Massage Envy to let them know to thoroughly check and clean their tables- so it wouldn't happen to anyone else. They never called me back to assure me that they had done due diligence on that. This is what inspired this review-- their lack of follow up. It is almost a week now and I will have to go to an eye specialist because there is still swelling , perhaps an abscess. In addition, I called the owners and left a message about the air conditioning issue and how the $100+ I spent on the massage was ruined by that discomfort--- and was never called back. This massage has become a nightmare-- and costly in terms of time and money. I think I need to call the health department to have their facility inspected for infestation.
