We are so grateful to be working with Tim & Josh and the architecture team at Insitu! For the past year Tim has overseen our comprehensive first-floor renovation on our 1906 home in Maynard. This project included removing the chimney and stairs, adding steel beams, and opening up the entire living space.
Tim's designs allowed us move our primary bedroom to the first floor and to provision for aging in place — wider doorways, removing interior walls, a gorgeous zero-threshold shower, and one continuous flooring surface that, if ever needed, could be navigated in a wheelchair.

Tim and his team worked with us to build an unconventional addition in the midst of COVID. He and everyone he worked with were creative, resourceful, and thoughtful about every suggestion made - ranging from broad design ideas to the details of paint swatches. To say that this felt like a collaboration would be an understatement - it truly was, in every way. We couldn't be happier with either the process or the outcome and Studio InSitu is a huge reason why.

We couldn't be happier that we found Tim Hess and his team at Studio InSitu! We had been trying to conceptualize how to add a small addition to our 300 year old colonial, ensuring we respected it’s history while adding our own touch and much needed living space. Tim’s vision was exactly what we were looking for. While we love our crooked floors and ancient stone foundation, we knew we needed someone who had experience in working with older homes and all their “charms”.
