Booked an appointment for my son’s first retwist 10:30 Saturday morning at Knotty by Nature. Spoke to the stylist on Friday to confirm time and find out if we needed to wash. Was told to wash it because they were 2 weeks from “getting right”. Cool no problem. Then the stylist asked If I would be interested in her coming to us that night because she “might have something to do” the following day. Cool no problem. Asked me to call her when I got off work but if I didn’t hear from her “we’ll see you tomorrow for your scheduled appointment “ Cool no problem.

That was the last I heard from her.

Called and texted after work. No answer. Showed up Saturday morning. Closed shop. Called 3 times back to back. No answer. Still haven’t heard anything. I’ll go more into their unprofessionalism on the review I leave on their page

So I called Style Lab and spoke with the owner Nercy. Explained what happened and asked if there was any chance of getting an emergency retwist that day. She was sweet and most impressive PROFESSIONAL. Literally 15 minutes later we had an appointment for noon.

We met Sherrie and immediately I knew we were in good hands. She gave us a quick but thorough consolation. She listened to what we were looking for and offered her recommendations. My son has a softer texture of hair and plays a lot of sports so we decided to interlock and crochet his baby locs for better results. Before I knew it he was head back getting a FULL WASH as part of the service.

Halfway through my son got a little nervous on the final look. I came back to check in and Sherrie helped soothe his fears. She gave him tips and explained the why behind them. She shared her years of experience with locs, how she learned and her passion for doing textured hair. By the time we were done my sons baby locs looked better than I imagined. We started with free parts and I was so impressed with how clean she was able to ger parts were when she finished.

Did I mention Sherrie came in on her day off to squeeze us in? And a simple 2 hour retwist turned into 4 1/2 hours of reconstruction and clean up? And did it all with a gentle kindness and understanding that turned us into Style Lab clients

I’ve been looking for a full service salon for months. I was immediately excited when we walked in the shop and saw braids being done, a slick back ponytail style, eyebrows being waxed, and a little girl about to get in the chair excited for her turn. I’m already planning appointments out for me for a variety of services and he’ll be back next month to see Sherrie. In the end we ended up exactly where we were meant to be!
