“Mina rules! I emailed Mina inquiring about a cover-up that I knew would take alot of work. Everything was easy and straightforward; I provided some reference images and answered some basic questions and we made the appointment. I love what Mina drew up and getting tattooed by her is a great experience. Throughout the process, Mina was communicative and clear about what she envisioned and always asked if I agreed on design and direction of the tattoo. Excellent quality all around and her new shop is a very comfortable environment. I have a good amount of ink, and I can tell you she has a light touch. True tattoo therapy.

“My session with Jennifer Medrano (insta:@medranotattoos) was my first tattoo experience at a tattoo store, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I reached out over email requesting a cover up of a DIY stick/poke with a proposed design concept. Not only was Jen super responsive but Jen also spent so much time and effort drafting a design that perfectly depicted my requests regarding style, size, etc. Jen was also very professional and considerate during the tattoo session by being transparent about the whole process and expectations at every step, starting from finalizing the design in person, during the actual tattoo session, and the aftercare. “Wave n’ Pave is the best tattoo studio on the planet, and I couldn’t have asked for a better tattoo artist than Carissa.

To start off, I reached out through their web form and submitted a tattoo design for a ladybug. Ellen was quick to get back to me and accommodate a consultation. She coordinated the whole process between Carissa and me and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was ecstatic to get such an early appointment.

Then came the day of my appointment, when Carissa and Ellen presented me with an embellished tattoo design. The new design was so much better than what I had envisioned. My initial design was a ladybug emblematic of the metamorphosis that I am slowly going through. Ladybugs are also signs of good luck and prosperity.

Carissa made it even better by adding seeds at the bottom of the design and a lotus at the top, signifying growth through hardship, just as a lotus grows out of the mud. She added a whole new meaning to the design and brought such a wonderful tattoo to life.

She is such a wonderful human being—warm and welcoming. She truly understands the sentiments and inspirations of her clients. I loved talking to her throughout the entire process and learned so much from her. Being an artist and a creative person myself, she was an inspiration to me.

Also, the most important thing: she has the hands of an angel. The whole procedure was smooth and painless. All my friends love the tattoo she designed even more than what I had originally planned.

He also covered up a botch job from another, less than good, studio in the area for my wife. I was stunned. I didn't know cover ups could be that good.

I also got a piece by Simon that he absolutely nailed. It was kind of weird though as when I requested my appointment I uploaded inspiration photos and wrote a description of what I wanted. I don't think he read the description and just pasted the inspiration photos next to each other and was just going to put THAT on me. So a little awkwardness, but we got it sorted out. What he ended up coming up with was amazing though.“

“I couldn’t recommend Josh Wallis enough. He’s done nine out of my ten tattoos, tattooing me for 16 years. He has always exceeded my expectations and is a dream to collaborate with. I usually have an idea of what I want and he brings it to life. I once told him I wanted a tulip tattoo with absolutely no guidance and he drew up and designed it and it’s BEAUTIFUL. And to note, it was covering a very large scar and you can’t tell it was there.
My latest tattoo is on my spine. I have scoliosis and Josh spent as much time as needed to make sure it was properly placed and looked straight even though my spine is curved.
He’s done several pieces that are extremely personally meaningful and he’s been respectful and honored the vision.
Most of my tattoos are full color and I’ve never had to touch one of them up, because he absolutely packs the ink.
Also, he’s a really cool guy to spend some time with!
