I have nothing but high regards for this practice. I have been many times but today I returned with a chronic problem that was not treated by a lengthy visit to a local ER a few weeks ago. Today, within one hour I was greeted, checked in, seen, treated and meds ordered within one hour. Happy to say that I already feel so much better than I did 24 hours ago. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns and issues and acted on them. We are very fortunate to have this team in our town.
Dr Peter Rugg is incompetent and his behavior and treatment was unacceptable. My almost 2 year old daughter (who was already diagnosed with RSV and ear infections) had a piece of tick left in her ear. He walked into the room, would not even look in her ears, and told us to go to the ER to have her sedated to have it taken out. My daughter was not crying, was not making a scene, he obviously just did not want to deal with a toddler. UNACCEPTABLE! His treatment plan was appalling (the words of a nurse not mine). He obviously does not care about patients and only cares about a paycheck.
Earlier this month I had a sinus infection but wanted to make sure that's all it was. I called Urgent Care of Holden and described my symptoms asking if I needed a COVID test. The woman on the phone said yes you absolutely need to be tested, but you can only schedule an appointment online. The only option online was to get a test AND talk to a doctor. I didn't want to talk to a doctor but wanted the test. At my appointment I repeatedly said I don't need to talk to the doctor, I just want the test. I even told that to the doctor when he came in. Still he insisted on checking me. I just found out from my insurance company that UCofH is going to be sending a bill for $300. REALLY?!! Go ahead and wait for that get paid. Never again will I go to or recommend Urgent Care of Holden. Just a bunch a greedy charlatans!
