Compassionate Care Veterinary Services

Compassionate Care Veterinary Services (CCVS) is a modern veterinary practice located in Groton, MA. The clinic is led by a dedicated team of Fear Free Certified professionals, including Dr. Lynne O'Neil and Dr. Allison O'Neil. CCVS specializes in companion animal medicine, providing a wide range of services such as preventative care, urgent and emergency care, ultrasound diagnostics, dentistry, spay and neuter procedures, surgery, laser therapy, and treatment for skin diseases and allergies. A board-certified surgeon is also available for advanced surgeries and orthopedics, eliminating the need for referrals to specialty hospitals.

Clients praise CCVS for its low-stress handling techniques and accommodating staff, which help create a calming environment for both pets and their owners. The practice offers separate exam rooms for cats and dogs to reduce anxiety and has a smart scheduling system to minimize wait times. Many reviewers highlight the staff's friendliness and attentiveness, noting that they take great care to avoid encounters between pets that may lead to aggression in the lobby or hallways.

The clinic has shown exceptional compassion, especially for older or infirm pets. One customer shared how their 13-year-old, 130-pound Leonberger received excellent care, with diagnostic equipment brought outside to treat him comfortably. The staff's technical expertise and passion for animals are described as simply exceptional, and they are considered some of the nicest people imaginable.

Owners also appreciate the clinic’s gentle approach with cats and puppies, noting that they are kept calm and comfortable. A recent example included a seamless spay procedure for a puppy, where the vet used skin to skin closure with medical glue—no stitches, cones, or licking involved. The recovery was smooth, and the puppy was doing great just three days post-op.

The vet staff and doctors are recognized not only for their loving attitude but also for their knowledge and top-notch medical methods. When a client brought in her mother’s cat, Reese, she appreciated the careful, minimally invasive testing and treatment, which avoided trauma and kept the cat comfortable. Overall, CCVS is highly regarded for its organization, cleanliness, reasonable prices, and genuine commitment to the well-being of pets and their owners.
