Judy was so incredibly helpful when I found an abandoned nest of lethargic baby birds. It was a holiday and I was having trouble getting in touch with anyone who could help.
She gave me advice over the phone to care for them safely until we could transport them to her, and spoke to us multiple times when we had more questions. She was so informative and knows so much about song birds.
Now, in her care, the babies appear to be thriving! She really made a difference in saving those three baby birds. She is an inspiration and we are so grateful that people with such big hearts exist!!
I brought an injured baby robin to Cummington Wildlife after a serious fall from a nest. Seeing him progress from a fragile nestling with a ruptured air sac to a young robin learning to fly has been remarkable (the one in the middle). Judy’s knowledge, dedication, and willingness to educate the public through her Facebook posts gave me a real appreciation for the work wildlife rehabilitators do. Thank you for giving this little bird a chance.
A Grosbeak hit my door while trying to escape a Cooper's Hawk. Although Judy was completely booked and unable to take in the bird herself, she still took the time to answer my questions and offer guidance.
She recommended another facility and gave me advice on how to keep the bird safe and comfortable overnight (cardboard box with an old t-shirt for comfort). Thanks to her help, I was able to keep the bird secure until my appointment at Tufts Wildlife Clinic the following morning.
