Really impressed with his drawing skills (original, fresh, legible designs) and his tattooing ability - super crisp and consistent linework with bold outlines, and he can really pack in the black!

Professionalism: responsive to emails. Pricing is affordable while also reflecting his experience and top-notch art skills. Original artwork: I gave him my idea with some guidelines on what I wanted and didn’t want, and he created something 1000x better. He custom drew and placed the design to fit MY skin (I have keloids, scarring, and moles he had to work around), in the area I wanted. He is a versatile artist and you should let him work his magic: I highly recommend you give him some creative freedom with your idea and preferred style. He made some very reasonable modifications to my idea and truly elevated it into an incredible tattoo.

His shop is clean and well-lit (the entire plaza and parking lot, as well). He was on time. We talked very little while he was working, which suited me just fine as I’m an introvert. He’s a non-smoker, I appreciated that he didn’t have to take smoke breaks and that his shop didn’t smell like cigarettes or incense or anything else.

Most importantly, he was respectful of my body and me as a person. I have some fear/discomfort around men in general and have always been super selective about who touches me, and almost exclusively prefer only working with women (doctors, massage therapists, dentists, etc.). I know that’s extreme – I just want to say I felt incredibly comfortable with Carlos Lopez from Day 1 and that’s rare for me, and I’m mentioning it in case anyone else is in the same boat.

“I’ve gotten I think 16 tattoos at Blvck Rose and they should be sick of me, but everyone is still nice to me lol. Super queer friendly, clean, safe. I’ve primarily seen Luke and he does such an amazing job with all of my stupid gross ideas, and I’ve got some significant scarring so I’m definitely not the easiest canvas. My cousins also get work done there, so between us we’ve basically seen all the artists and we’ve loved all of them. Every experience I’ve had getting piercings with Brie was also awesome.“
