The main hotel lobby, veranda, library, and bars evoke nostalgia, while the exterior areas are beautifully updated. Chatham Bars Inn remains a delightful destination for visitors seeking elegance and a memorable experience, whether for dinner, drinks, or simply to enjoy the beautiful views from the terrace at sunset.
Maybe once was 5 star. This was a buckets list place for me to stay at for my 40th birthday. I’m a nurse by trade and hate to complain, but it is a wonderful spot for dinner and drinks, but just go home after. I stayed for 2 nights in an ocean front cottage- no beach access from house for $1500/night. From many trips back to desk bc room keys were not working to Broken beach chairs and umbrellas. I booked same night as very expensive wedding and I couldn’t even have a meal at the beach bar grille all weekend which was a huge let down. I have many other stories but I digress. My experience fell short for my 40th at this hotel and it was disappointing.
This is a great place to go to see how the other half lives. Although at first it may come across as waspy and dry, the staff and guests both are super welcoming and friendly. Even if you’re not staying this is a great place to hangout to start an evening or get a drink before dinner with live music and lots of out door first come first serve seating.
