I have been going to Rich at Savvy Hair Design for two years, and every time I see him I am blown away by his genius with the scissors, his eye for the right cut for each client, and his amazing range of skills. I've had over 20 cuts now, and because my hair grows fast, I have asked for a different cut each time. No matter what I request, Rich takes it in, thinks it over, and consistently gives me the most adorable cut I have ever had. It never stops! He's also done several partial foils, turning me into a blondie again and making me the happiest person in Cambridge. And he is the nicest, most personable guy you can imagine. I always look forward to that fun conversation...read full review
I am in Boston for only the Fall quarter teaching. I was in a hurry to get to work and I walked by pure chance into Savvy and met Carolina, I had such a great experience with her that I have returned 4 times for either hair color, a trim, shampoo or blow dry. ( I live in Back Bay but a car ride is very simple and there is ample two hour parking right in front). Carolina followed exactly my instructions which was to reproduce the color I had and to do a trim, again following my hair cut. I asked her about some styling changes and she gave me very good advice about where to part my hair, that I followed and she was right. I liked her work and her disposition so much that the last time, I asked her if she could also do a simple manicure (no color) and waxing. All great, I felt that I was at a fancy spa being able to do it all. I highly recommend Carolina, I will go back to her anytime. The rest of the people in the salon are quiet and friendly which I also like. Constance J.F.
I don't get anything fancy done when I get a haircut, so the three things I care about with haircuts are (1) Convenience, (2) Price, and (3) Quality of conversation. I started going to Savvy Hair Design when I saw it got decent reviews, was reasonably priced, and was a couple blocks from my apartment. Since then I've continued to get my hair cut there despite moving a fair distance farther away mostly because I enjoy my conversations with Richard, the owner of the place. He's happy to talk about whatever you want, and if you're tired or having a quiet day for whatever reason, you can just sit back, relax and have him work his magic. I almost hesitate to write this review because I think it will mean I'll have to book my appointments with him even farther in advance, but I couldn't long entertain the unjust alternative of depriving you all of Richard's conversational charm.
