I've gone to Alfred's for years. Hands-down, the talent here is the best in Harvard Square and some of the best in Boston. Fran is exceptional as a stylist and colorist. I've witnessed both Alfred's and Fran's cuts on men and women over the years and can say, I would recommend Fran or Alfred (or anyone in the Salon) to be beyond reproach in their talent or craft. Fran has never failed me in coloring my hair, and he takes the time to cut and style my hair to go above and beyond a typical cut.

Alfred and Fran are both amazing stylists. I have gotten my hair colored here and it looked great - very shiny, even color which matched my skin tone well. I also get regular haircuts with Fran - he understands that I don't like my long hair cut too short, and does the face-framing layers that I like perfectly. I went there for my first visit a month ago. Alfred was very intuitive to what I wanted and gave me input about hair color hair, based on my complexion an other assets. Very satisfied with cut and color. Much, much better than the salon I'd been going to on the high priced Newbury St, Boston. Alfred is an excellent technician and artist. You will not be disappointed.
