I have found homecare companies like Assisting Hands to be very helpful for my aging in place strategy. My family discovered Assisting Hands which was recommended by my healthcare team at health systems in the area after I had a series of falls. Having homecare enabled my husband and I to stay in our condo for many years by providing support for activities of daily living including transportation, accompaniment to appointments and ER visits, mobility/fall prevention, medication management, nutrition and food preparation, and more. I use a power wheelchair and my wife is my primary caregiver. My wife traveled to Puerto Rico for a needed vacation with her law school classmates. For the first time ever, employing a home care agency, I hired Assisting Hands Home Care to provide me with a caregiver, on each day my wife was away, to help me with daily living activities, driving me to appointments, light chores and meals. The caregivers assigned to me were excellent and the office staff were very responsive, especially the owner, Dave! I highly recommend Assisting Hands to everyone needing help or companionship.
