Overton Brooks VA is awesome. Best care I have ever received from any military facility, even when I was active duty. They listen to me, community care is always available and they give me the choice. I live in Texas an hour and a half away. Everyone is always so helpful, and they always follow-up with me via calls, texts, and emails.I couldn't feel more cared for.Thank you Overton Brooks VA!

My wife, (a veteran also),broke her wrist, on a holiday weekend, within two days of going to VA ER, this VA had an ortho appointment, and while enroute to that first appt, they called about surgery already scheduled the very next day. We hadn't even seen the ortho doc yet! We live an hour and a half away from the hospital, so after surgery, they kept her overnight to watch her and for pain management. .These people were the most caring and professional we have ever dealt with. Everyone from ER staff, housekeeping, xray, pharmacy, to the ortho doc was amazing. She felt cared about and loves her VA hospital.

I have been going to Overton Brooks VA since 1994. It use to be great. Been in patient many times. In January 2009, I had what was suppose to be a simple surgery, in and out in about 5 days, however, in surgery, I got two serious staph infections, MRSA and VRE. I had to be reopened and left open. I stayed in ICU 42 horrible days. Went in on January 25th and left March 15th.Now, it's 2023. They damaged my pancreas which has caused severe pancreatitis and now I am a bad type 2 diabetic and have to take insulin. It also has caused cirrhosis of the liver and I don't even drink.Overton rooks is a failure. No longer have a GI section for us. The meals are horrible.They don't...read full review
