I did not get my hair serviced by Courtney due to subpar communication on her part and because I don’t think a $25 consultation is necessary for the service I’m looking to book. I first reached out to Courtney to get my hair done and I sent her a message to see if she could do all that I wanted done (wash, deep condition, cut, and natural boho braids (no hair added)) and if she could, how much it’ll be. She responded saying she can do what I asked for and it would be $125. I agreed to the price and went to book but couldn’t figure out how to because what I asked for wasn’t an option on her booking site. She edited her booking site and told me what to click to book. When I went to book this time, I clicked the style she added for me but it was just for the boho braids (not including, cut, wash, or deep condition) for $125. So I messaged Courtney again to ask about the price because I don’t like showing up to an appointment to get my hair done and my stylist and I not be on the same page. I just asked if everything that I asked for was $125 like we discussed or if I had to do an add on and it would be more. I also let her know I didn’t see the option to add on the wash, deep condition, and trim. I did not get a responses from Courtney. I messaged her 5 days later letting her know I was still interested in booking I just needed clarification and possibly assistance to make sure I book correctly based on what I wanted. I can confirm my message was “seen” and she just never responded. I find that bad business but still was willing to consider going to her because she came up on my Google search for silk presses. I was going to book her Silk Press First Timers service that includes a wash and trim but her booking site said I’d need a $25 consultation in order to book. She didn’t require one for my other style and this style would be less work. I understand a consultation for a more intricate service like hair dying or something but a basic wash and style on natural hair seems a bit money hungry. I called to confirm that if I’d really need to book a consultation for my service and she said yes. Overall not a good impression so far so I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere.
