Proper old school barber in a good location with attention to detail and an excellent hot towel shave. Was there on a weekday and able to just walk in, but will be busier on weekends so consider a reservation. Pricey comparative to some other places around but it didn't feel rushed in any way.
I love coming to see Pat when I am in New Orleans. I first got my hair cut by him before a fancy wedding that was being held at the Ritz last year - and the concierge there suggested I go to Monteleone Barber Shop for the trim I requested.Stepping into Monteleone Barber shop is like stepping back in time (although doubtful a woman would have gotten her hair cut there in the 1940s) and Pat has an amazing plant that should not be alive because I don't think it has ever been repotted but it thrives where it is. Fantastic experience. We were in New Orleans, staying at the Hotel Monteleone for a getaway weekend and my hair was getting pretty shaggy, so I walked in on a Saturday and got a really nice haircut. This is a true old school barbershop with the hot lather neck shave, etc. Price was reasonable at $25. The barber has been cutting hair for 63 years and is a really nice man. Much appreciated!
