Factotum Barber, established in 2016, is a full-service barber shop located in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, right next to the historic Bud Rip’s Old 9th Ward Bar. This charming shop, situated in a building that has served the community since 1860, embraces an old New Orleans vibe and offers a welcoming atmosphere. The shop has recently been renovated, featuring a beautiful tile floor that enhances its appeal. Visitors often mention the friendly and experienced staff, who create a comfortable environment and provide additional perks like hot towels and drinks. Many clients, including those who travel frequently, have found their ideal cuts here and leave feeling confident and satisfied. Factotum Barber stands out for its excellent service, great atmosphere, and commitment to quality haircuts, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a top-notch barber experience in New Orleans.
I've been seeing Jason for over eight years now, and his work has consistently been excellent.
I believe a person's work is a good judge of their character, and Jason's character is not only apparent in the skill and care he puts into his haircuts — it's also apparent in the way he carries himself, treats people around him, and keeps his shop. People who are truly from New Orleans have something different about them — a kindness, an openness, an authenticity I've always appreciated. Jason is one of those people, born and raised in the Marigny/Bywater. In my opinion, he's an asset to our community, and I highly recommend his haircuts.
The music’s always on point, and the chats with Jason and Sam are like catching up with your friends. Every visit feels fresh—it's like the old-school barbershop vibe but better.
Looking for a great cut in New Orleans? Look no further. I travel full time for work, so I'm always seeking out a new barber, and was lucky to get an appointment with Sam at Factotum. I showed him a few pictures of what I wanted, and he listened and executed it perfectly. He's also a really funny guy, and the shop has a great atmosphere. They recently renovated it, and put in a really beautiful tile floor. It's a bit off the beaten path if you're a visitor like me, but well worth the trip!
