“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Truly Compassionate and Professional Experience This review is a bit late, but I wanted to take a moment to share our experience with Greenwood Funeral Home from my dad’s service back in January 2025. His passing was completely unexpected, and my sister and I were both very new to the process of making funeral arrangements. We honestly didn’t even know where to start. From the very first email we sent, while we were still at the hospital, Sylvia was incredibly quick to respond. She was professional, compassionate, and went above and beyond to explain every detail we needed to know. She guided us through the process step by step, helping us make decisions that honored our dad while also being mindful of our budget. When we finally met Sylvia in person, it truly felt like we were meeting with a friend we had known for years. She’s so down-to-earth and genuinely cares about the families she helps. It was as if she could anticipate what we needed before we even asked. She had thoughtful answers ready and seemed to intuitively understand what we wanted for our dad. You can tell she’s experienced, but also that she leads with heart in everything she does. The night of my dad’s visitation was overwhelming in the best way. We had one of the largest crowds the funeral home had seen in a while. Despite that, Sylvia managed everything with incredible professionalism and grace. Her assistant, Mary, was just as amazing. She was on top of everything the entire time and treated our family and every guest with such kindness and compassion. Somehow, everything ran smoothly, no one complained about waiting, and both Sylvia and Mary still took the time to check in on us to make sure we were doing okay. Even after the services were complete and the payments were handled, Sylvia’s support didn’t stop there. She continued to follow up with us, answering questions promptly and helping with anything she could. That kind of care is rare and meant so much to our family. We truly cannot thank Sylvia and her assistant Mary enough for giving us peace of mind during one of the hardest times in our lives. Knowing that our dad was laid to rest with such dignity and care brought us comfort that we’ll never forget.“

“My mother passed away unexpectedly which is the hardest, the family has always utilized another funeral over many years, however I selected Boyd.. I was apprehensive after my decision due to the reputation and years the family utilized it's competitor... I was pleased from my initial interaction until the end. I felt like I was treated like family and not a number. I called several times with questions, changes etc and was accommodated with patience. The office staff was responsive, kudos to Inez and Candace. The gentleman that was present to allow us to view our mother was patient and professional. My mother was beautiful....Her hair, makeup, suit, rosary, and jewelry were well put together... The staff at the actual funeral were professional, and Mr. Boyd made a visit before services started which I felt was so comforting...Staff assisted the pallbearers in a professional, kind manner. . The Boyd staff at the cemetery maintained their professionalism and assisted with family there, and the Dove release.

“Integrity, that's important to have if you are a funeral director. I never used them for this service (yet), but was riding my bike over the St Claude bridge one day. It's always scary because drivers are irresponsible & make it dangerous for bikers. This huge SUV got very close behind me & honked the horn, like I had some where else to go? He sped by me after we cleared the bridge & I caught him at the light & shared my thoughts.Flash 3-4 weeks later: got a flat as I cleared the bridge one day & was on the sidewalk fixing the tire. The door opens & a gentleman comes out & says "Hey, you're the guy I got into it with on the bridge a while back". I peered up and realized I was outside hie funeral business. Before I could say anything he said; "Sorry, I was wrong & I apologize". I just smiled & thanked him as he got in his car to go. This is the kind of people I wanna do business with, especially important business like his. Integrity.“
