People waiting for hours emergency room. Some people left. The room my wife was in was dirty, blood spots on bed handrail, floor was dirty,had fans in room because air conditioning was not working. nurses were very helpful but dr. communicating to them or my wife, on what was going was unexceptacal, about when my wife would be released. This is only my opinion things could be different in other situations or cases.
Oshner medical hospital Lafayette La on Coolidge road, did and outstanding job at taking care of my mom. From the front desk checking in, to getting her vitals checked, EKG, bloodwork, to X-rays and to getting her into a ER room with a bed. Was all done in a very short timely manner. The doctor ( I can’t remember his name) came in there quickly and gave the diagnosis and a solution to rectifying the problem and started immediately treating my mom with utmost care and he did notify us that she would be staying at least one night but could possibly be there three days. At first, I thought I was going to have a great experience. When I was taken upstairs everyone seemed friendly and caring, but the more questions I asked or the more care I required, it seemed to drastically change. I was a fall risk, had a fall risk and allergy bracelets on. They cut those off to make room for the blood pressure cuff and nothing was posted anywhere. I was supposed to get my meds early in the morning but sometimes didn't get them until 11 or 11:30AM. I wasn't made aware of my care plan.
