Northshore Humane Society

Northshore Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue and community veterinary clinic located in Covington, LA. Established in 1953, they are an independent, non-governmental charity that relies solely on the support of caring people to fund their life-saving programs and services. The staff are described as extremely kind, knowledgeable, and friendly, providing thorough and professional care for the animals and helpful advice for new pet parents. The organization has served the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region and is one of the largest animal welfare organizations in Louisiana.

Customers have praised the Northshore Humane Society for their wonderful adoption process and the quality of care provided to the animals. Many have adopted dogs and cats from the shelter and have had positive experiences, describing their new pets as "amazing" and "sweet cuddle bugs." The adoption process is reported to be smooth, and the staff, such as volunteer Maggie, are commended for their assistance and for calming any fears during the process. The shelter is also noted for its affordable veterinary services, including shots, neutering, and spaying, although some customers have found the requirements for stray cats to be confusing and difficult to navigate.
