Coastal Truck Driving School offers a supportive and flexible environment for those seeking a CDL. Students appreciate the school's accommodating class schedules, allowing them to balance education with work and family commitments. The instructors are experienced and dedicated, providing personalized attention in intimate classroom settings, which helps students grasp essential information and techniques. Many students highlight the hands-on driving practice available and the helpful guidance from staff members, who assist with job placement after graduation.
The school is known for its knowledgeable and experienced instructors who share real-world tips and stories from the road. They ensure students learn safety, control, and confidence behind the wheel. The classroom portion focuses on preparing students for the CDL permit, learning the rules of the road, and understanding logbooks, hours of service, and regulations. The hands-on training in the yard and on the road allows students to practice backing maneuvers, pre-trip inspections, and road driving, which brings everything together.
While the school does not teach driving a two-stage transmission, it prepares students thoroughly for other aspects of the trucking industry. The school is praised for its welcoming environment and the staff's willingness to help students with anything they need. Overall, Coastal Truck Driving School is recommended for anyone looking to start a career in trucking.
Coastal was a great experience. My classmates and instructors were incredible. Learning what it takes to operate a semi seemed so intimidating but my instructors (Wayne and James) along with my classmates made it feel like second nature. I recommend this school 10/10. 🫶🏾
Great experience, Mr Henry gave me great advice during my hands-on. Mr. Maurice was also instrumental in my pre-trip. Some steps involved with certain things should be outlined more clearly. I do understand that every CDL is a bit different, but students should have a clearer understanding of steps to take for endorsements etc.
Overall, they do want you to do your best.
