We’re an old, handicapped couple whose only option was to get a plumber to turn off the water to our house, find the leak, and stop further damage. (FYI: State Farm will not pay for this, but only pays for damages.) Water was everywhere: The plumbers recommended United Fire & Water Damage of Louisiana LLC. In a flood-situation, as I know from experience, the first thing is to take out everything that’s wet and get the place dried out. Dinking around means mold. United Fire & Water Damage of Louisiana LLC came out immediately. Disgusted with State Farm and knowing that our home would be ruined if we waited for State Farm to act, we personally guaranteed payment for the cost of getting the place dry. Owner Kevin Hussey took us at our word and his company’s work began. By the end of the day, all the wet stuff had been removed by Kevin Givens and his team mate. Soon the floors had been mopped with pet-and people-safe disinfectant, fans and dehumidifiers were running, and we knew our home would be saved. United Fire & Water Damage knew what they were doing and did it right. We presented some serious, unusual problems: Not only are we old, handicapped, and vulnerable (with doctor’s orders to avoid public areas because we simply cannot handle infections, etc.), but we also have a protective, 180+ English mastiff service dog. We were afraid to try to go to a hotel. United Fire & Water Damage owner Kevin Hussey said his teams could handle our staying in our home: And they did! Team after team came in: Each one with specific jobs to do, each one was careful, kind and very professional. If it’s possible to take a lemon and make lemonade, Mr. Hussey and his teams did. We are truly in awe of the work that was done. We are better off than we were before the flood: Our home is clean and fresh. Since the flooring could not be matched, we have new floors. The baseboards are all clean and repainted. The walls that had to be opened to find the leak are repaired and freshly painted. United Fire & Water Damage completely restored our home and put it back together again. All of this was accomplished quickly and perfectly. Building and real estate have always been part of my life, so I know from experience what it takes. This floor installation is the best I have ever seen. Leroy Mayorga, who was on-site manager and overseer, told me that his team could install the floor seamlessly without the breaks in the old floor. Yes! They did it! I am amazed and delighted! Adding to the smooth, easy, work schedule, Beau Shamburger oversaw everything happening at our house and made certain everyone had what was needed and did what was necessary to be done. From office worker April Stanford to Randi Hutchinson, who came, took pictures and coordinated with Conner Lloyd of ProSource of Baton Rouge to find flooring choices that were appropriate, in-stock and readily available, everyone worked together to make the entire experience a success. Our washing machine failed and it caused significant water damage to our brand new home at 9pm On a Tuesday night! Panicking and overwhelmed, I call United Fire and Water and they sent a crew out that night!!!! They were very professional and knowledgeable. That night, they cleaned up the water, took pictures and assessed the water damage, and put out fans and dehumidifiers all of which they knew our insurance company would need when we filed a claim. They were out at our house until 1am making sure we were taken care of. The next day the has a crew removing all the floors and molding that was damaged. They continued to come assess the drying progress each day keeping detailed drying measurements. Once it was all dry, they sent a detailed report to our insurance company with all the information they knew the insurance company would need to have our claim processed quickly and without hassle. The absolute BEST craftsman replaced and painted all the floors, molding, and Sheetrock. The work was so perfect, We loved it even more than before! They were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job! We were so impressed with that they handled it all from start to finish! Working with United Fire and Water was very easy and hassle free!!
