It was fate that brought me to AFS/10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Richmond.
i didn't know how much i needed it until i walked through those doors and felt the energy and atmosphere that AFS/10th Planet Richmond brings. This gym will bring out the dog in you. The coaches wanna see you win. Not just in martial arts but even more so in life. They will unlock your potential and produce leaders on and OFF the mats! There are no handouts, and for me i like that you have work and grind for what you want to achieve on those mats. Supportive teammates, supportive parents and supportive coaches make this place work! We love this place ,I have 2grand children in their youth jujitsu ..and I have been doing the DDP YOGA ..all the trainers are great.!!would recommend AFS. Academy to anyone.several years later update still the best place ., and a national championship winner ,, training program going on !
Some over 18 months ago I finally agreed to let my now 9 year old give the gym a try. He has ADHD and struggles with impulse control and I was skeptical that this would help and honestly figured he would find himself in more trouble with impulse control rather than improvement. Not only is he learning jiu jitsu skills, but he is learning self confidence and self discipline, which has helped with his self regulation and impulse control issues. We are seeing great improvement not only on the mat, but at school and in the daily routines. He looks forward to practice and now to the competitions.
