About Sun Valley Park
Sun Valley Park offers a nice playground for children, featuring a sturdy, colorful, and modern design. It includes a refreshing sprinkler system during the summer, making it a great spot for kids to run and have fun. The park is dog-friendly, with visitors expected to leash their pets and clean up after them, as there are many people around. While the restrooms are functional, they are only open in the warm months and are often dirty and not well-stocked, with just one portapotty available. The park has a decent-sized playground and ample fields for soccer, basketball, and baseball, making it a popular spot for sports enthusiasts and families. However, care should be taken near the north side of the soccer field, where a large hole poses a risk to players. Sun Valley Park is also a great place for family reunions, workouts, or bike riding, and it offers a hidden, peaceful atmosphere with nice views of the river, inviting visitors to relax and unwind.
Love this park.
Just something I’ve been noticing around PRP/Valley Station lately.
There are a lot of younger kids (11–15) riding dirt bikes and other motorized bikes on public roads and through parks. It’s happening pretty regularly, and while I know they’re just being kids, it’s not safe and it negatively affects the spaces we all use.
This isn’t about calling anyone out, just a reminder that it probably starts with us as adults.
If you’ve got kids riding, it might be worth having a quick conversation about where it’s okay to ride and where it’s not. Private property with permission is a good place to start, and never on...read full review
Park is very nice and appreciate being able to practice here. But there is a massive hole on the edge of the soccer field on the north side that I’ve watched the football players (kids) step into while running and almost break their ankles.
Playground: The playground is the nicest one in this area. Sturdy, colorful, and modern.
Toilets: Only open in the warm months. Dirty, old, usually not stocked. One portapotty.
Dog-friendliness: People bring their dogs all the time but it's best for them to be leashed due to all the people
Picnic area: Not much to write home about.
