I have cut my own hair for the past 20 years because every time I would go get a hair cut by someone I would have to touch it up when I got home. I have recently given Sport Clips Middletown a chance, because it is conveniently located across the street from my office. Amber is my new go to girl. She gives a great cut, blends my beard so that I don't have to walk around looking goofy, and she is a great conversationalist. If I could give 10 stars I would!

This location has been my go-to for haircuts for the last year. I've consistently received excellent service from stylist Kaitlin and the store manager. Unfortunately, neither was working today, so I booked an appointment for July 21, 2025, with Julie — a decision I quickly came to regret.
I arrived right at 4:00 p.m. and had to wait about 10 minutes, which was no problem. I stepped next door to Kroger and returned to find Julie just finishing the previous haircut at 4:15. That was fine. She then went to the back — I assumed for a quick bathroom break, which was understandable. Then I heard the beep of the back door alarm. Okay, maybe a quick smoke break. Fair enough, everyone needs a break.
But then another back door alarm beeped, and another — and still no Julie.
By 4:45, I finally asked the other stylist (I believe her name was Edina or something that started with an E) what had happened to Julie. She asked her client if she could go to the back, he agreed, so she stopped her haircut and went to the back to look for Julie. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, I was understandably frustrated. When Julie finally returned, rather than apologizing, she immediately insisted she’d only been gone 10 minutes (which wasn’t true) and began arguing with me. So, I left — still shaggy. No way I was going to sit in a chair and let her touch my hair.
I like this location and the other stylists. But in my opinion, Julie does not meet the standards I’ve come to expect from a Sport Clips employee.
Note, Sport Clips only gives you an employee's first name. If there are other Julies working at this location, they are probably great. That's why I mentioned the specific date and time, so store management can address this situation with this specific employee. Computer logs for check-in and check-out times will validate what I've reported here.

Hours listed on the website are deceiving! We arrived at 4:20 after driving across town to get here. The website said they were open until 5 and nobody was waiting in the lobby, but we were told they didn't have time to give my child a haircut. I'm very disappointed in the level of customer service.
